Fire, Light, and circus Performances
Since moving to the Comox Valley in the fall of 2022, I have had the honour of dancing alongside a talented troupe of professional fire performers. With a rich history of captivating audiences at private events and public shows, we bring forth an art form that is as thrilling as it is mesmerizing.
Our fire performances are a testament to the mastery of our troupe, led by Denyse Dansereau, founder and choreographer of Ignisia Circus. With her expertise, combined with the skills and creativity of the other troupe members, we create a spectacle that is truly breathtaking. Each performance is a carefully choreographed display of artistry and elegance, leaving the audience in awe of the mesmerizing effects of fire in motion. The hypnotic dance of flames paired with the skillful maneuvers of our performers creates an ambiance that is nothing short of enchanting.
In addition to the exquisite choreographed performances, we also get to dance in parades, and flow freely through crowds in character during events. During the day, we may engage the audience with various props and toys, or let our characters do the work. In the dark, we bring out our LED flow toys and showcase our individuality.
Roving and character work:
Dressing up, creating a character, and getting to interact with the audience and event attendees is such a fun time, and is individually tailored specifically for each event. Weaving through the festivities, dancing in a parade, playing with and engaging the crowd leaves a lasting impression on everyone. Theatrical interaction and performance, improvised or choreographed dance, and always, deliberate costume curation.
Contemporary Dance with GruFF goat Dance theatre
From 2015-2022, I had the honour of training under the direction of Trish Belsham, contemporary dance pioneer, who’s mentorship, and guidance expanded my performance technique and quality exponentially. The dance opportunities that my fellow dancers and I were able to execute were absolute gifts, truly remarkable experiences. Gruff Goat Dance Theatre rehearses in Pemberton BC, and performs throughout the Sea to Sky corridor.
